Into the Light
Year of Kings. Day 262. We meet at Craig’s house today at 3pm, up in the mountains of Swannanoa. We just finished recording an album - but we’re committed to the next chapter of this story. There are things that we put in place at the start of this story, 10 years ago, the day we were born - and these things are starting to walk into the light. So we’re writing and collaborating and co-creating and heading back into the mountains. This idea of creation is so strange - when we play new songs we don’t know what will happen - it is the unwritten part of this story.
Year of Kings. Day 263. I’ve been putting it off - but today’s the day to start creating a list of all the small/medium music festivals in the Southeast- and then figure out how to play at some of these festivals this year…
Year of Kings. Day 264. Practice on Sunday afternoon went on for an extra hour because we were all in the flow. Working on new songs. Defining our sound. Black Mountain flirting songs - that was the sound of the album we just recorded with Kevin Moloney. Best exemplified by “Buckminster Fuller” - but now the music is changing under us, as it should, and our music is the poetry of Saturday night.
Year of Kings. Day 265. This is how it works - we write really simple and easily accessible melodies AND then we bring in some true ringers to make the musical accompaniment kick-ass!
Year of Kings. Day 266. We’ll be playing at The Railyard in Black Mountain this Friday night - 7pm or sometime a little after. It will be a beautiful day and beautiful night and people will be out and about - so drop by for a glass and some music.
ear of Kings. Day 267. Show 27. The Railyard. 7pm. Gonna play some new material. Trouble. Hollow Night. If This is Lost. Find You In The Sky. True Believer. We’ve been working. Now we’ve got to see if the new songs draw people in, make the air shimmer, make the band laugh…
